Mineral Spirits vs Denatured Alcohol?

I am using olive branch long lasting tattoo ink and am having trouble with the paint clogging up the gun, almost as if it is too thick, wondered should I thin it a bit with mineral spirits or denatured alcohol (what is the difference between them)?

Also which of these products should I be using to clean the gun out, the webpage I got it from says the paint is an alcohol/oil base product.
