Single action brushes work well if you are experienced with different techniques.
Most Inks are thinner than make up.
The alcohol inks seem to flow a little better thru a double action airbrush.
I use botyh double and single depending on what effects I want to achieve.

It really depends on your skills and personal prefrences. Double action is very good for finer lines and hand lettering. Try one and see.
