Firstly, you need to dismiss the staff that were so disloyal and dock their pay for the damage they caused to your compressor.
When you get new staff, have some sort of contract (I'm not sure if you can do this or not) stating that they must not divulge any technical or supplier information to anyone. If a customer asks where you get your equipment, say 'specialist trade centre' in xxxxx (country of your choice!)
Speak to the organisers of the beach party and explain the problem that you have and that you will be taking further action against this person(s) and question whether they need someone like that at their event.
Just a few thoughts of what I would do.
Oh and when you are at the same event, use CO2 so that they can't sabotage your kit!
I find that people are fascinated at what we do and like to ask questions, when asked where I get my stuff from, I just say Australia, and they tend to leave it there. If they get more technical, they are fishing!
One lady I spoke to (in her 50's) was retiring to Spain and wanted to do something there, so I gave her the information that she needed as she seemed genuine and wasn't going to be a direct competitor even if she did take it up in my country.
