Posted by Bruce What ever you do don't use steel wool! It will actually make things worse, by ruffing up the surface, thus causing the paint to actually stick better to the needle. Also the silicon base oils are also a bad mix with paints. I don't know who "Greg" is, but he sure doesn't know much about airbrushes. I hope the info helps you. Bruce

The process is simple.
1) Make sure the needle is straight, if it isn't you
need to fix or replace it first.
2) Take some 1200 Wet and Dry sand paper (automotive
shops) and fold the sheet in half. Wet the paper and
spin the needle with some pressure between the sides
of the paper. To clarify; you need to pinch the sand paper
around the needle and spin the needle back and forth.
3) Get yourself some metal polish (I use "Brasso" and
a piece of cotton fabric. Wet the fabric with a little
polish and again spin the needle till it shines like
chrome.
That's all there is to it.
