For a friend who's now gone
dark blue sky soars so proud
stars peek out one by one
twinkle on, day is done.
milling about in an endless crush
Thoughts of me, thought of we
thoughts of she, back to me.
sitting up on their corner shelf.
Leaving the one alone that night
who in his mind lost a fight.
the will to give,
the desire to go on
and face another dawn.
my friend will no longer see the day.
He lost his life when he lost his hope
taken away at the end of a rope.
