You are referring to Floyd "Butch" Nickels (sp?). I well remember that day he jumped somewhere in the Pacific of off Central America on the way back from Panama. He was one crazy MF. Bob Nichols was an OS and apparently had some issues of his own. I am certainly no one to throw stones though, since I probably spent more time on restriction and had more captain's masts than both of them put together.
