Does anybody know if there are any Trinity archives going back to when Trinity were in the second division of The League (as it was then known)? Yes, I know it's hard to believe. My grandfather, William Jenkinson (signed from Wombwell Town in 1901) who played centre half for Trinity was captain in season 1906-7 which was his benefit year (I have a 'benefit souvenir' ticket for his benefit match between Trinity reserves and Newark - Midland League - Feb 16th 1907. Admission to ground 4d. So I don't suppose he made a fortune.) If anyone has any info or leads of enquiry, I'd be very grateful. Oh,and you might be interested to know that according to the Gainsborough News of the time on 22nd Feb 1907 the division 2 placings were from the top down: Chelsea, Notts Forest, Leicester Fosse, West Bromwich, Bradford City, Burnley, Wolverhampton, GAINSBURGH T, Hull City, Stockport C, Barnsley, Grimsby Town, Burslem Port Vale, Leeds City, Glossop, Clapton Orient, Chesterfield, Lincoln City, Blackpool and Burton United.
