Posted by Barry Taylor I have never seen a match at the Racecourse Ground, although I have often watched Wrexham in away matches. Last time I visited Wrexham (15 years ago?), I went to the ground, which was deserted and looked in very poor condition - a far cry from the descriptions I had from my father of international matches when he was a boy. Although I now live in the west of Ireland (and have been a life-long supporter of Manchester City), I hold Wrexham AFC very close to my heart and would be devastated if it was to cease existence. Please add my name to any petition that may exist. I would be delighted to gain more information about my family connection the Club and, if any one can help, I would appreciate that they contact me at barryriley@eircom.net Good luck!

I was shocked and dismayed to hear of the present plight of Wrexham AFC. I believe that my grandfather, John Taylor, who used to run a newsagents in Moss Lane (Street?) was a founder of the Club and was its secretary. He was also secretary of the Welsh FA. I believe that my father, George Taylor, played for the club in the early 1920s before moving to Manchester, where I was born.
