Garcia, who turns 23 on Saturday, goes straight into the squad to face Swindon in League One. Since joining the Hammers as a trainee in 1999, he has made 16 league appearances for the London club.
Colchester United have signed Richard Garcia from West Ham for an undisclosed fee, report BBC Essex.
