It's semantics of course, but I think it can be successfully argued that Harley Race and Terry Funk were performers, were masters of their craft, and could be called "artists". Of course they'd never call themselves "performance artists" though. I never once as a kid or young adult remember pro wrestling being called a "pseudo sport", or a "faux sport", never heard that said. That was the idea of it, but pro wrestling is pro wrestling, it's a unique thing all its own. Nobody thought it was a "sport" when I was a little kid, I can guarantee you that.
