As I said in my previous post, they're not going to compete with WWE as a brand anytime soon and probably never but they can compete to be the #2 company in the U.S. and they have the money to compete with WWE & ROH for talent. And that's a good thing. Competition is always a good thing. No matter what level. No one can start at WWE's level.
I also think you undervalue the talent AEW has signed. WWE thought enough of them to offer Cody & The Bucks 7 figure deals to stop them from starting this venture. The Elite are hot properties and put enough asses in the seats & sell enough merch to give WWE a scare at All In. No, they can't do that every month and probably not on a consistent basis but what they did was impressive. There's a good chance Jericho, Omega and Jim Ross will probably be added soon as well & Cody Rhodes ain't no dummy. I'm not a fan of his in-ring work but I've become a fan of his character & his apparent business acumen.
In the end I think this is exciting news especially for those of us that have followed The Elite the last couple of years and have become apathetic with WWE's creative & puzzling use of some of the top talent in the game.
