Well....Heh. I did like the elimination of the "artsy" camera, and they did build up to a few things for next week, which is good, but I didn't enjoy this show. It bored me more than anything. I'm not sure I agree the production was better, I thought if anything it was sloppier, more weird edits here and stuff like that, and typos, like spelling it "Corey Hollus", and another typo I can't remember at the moment.
I thought Camaro did fine in the booth alone, but I really didn't like the stand up stuff he did in the ring, just think he came off really lame and annoying there, and was was up with the black painted fingernails he had? I know Shawn Shultz does that too. I guess i'm not "hip" enough to understand stuff like that, cuz I sure don't. What happened to Clemmons anyhow, after the start, he was never even so much as mentioned again.
I got a laugh out of the stips for the NWA Mid America title situation. Of course, I always hate battle royals, especially when they involve a title, but this was funny. It will be the winner of the battle royal vs the "peoples choice". So let me get this straight, one guy has to fight and sweat and win a battle royal to qualify, and the other only has to pander to the fans to qualify, win or lose. Seems unfair somehow. lol Far as the matches went....
Hollis vs Popular, this match wasn't too bad, but like I said last week, they've already castrated Popular here, and they're asking me to suspend far more belief than I possibly can to have Hollis beating all these guys so much bigger than him. I know they say well if Rey Mysterio can do it, why can't Corey Hollis. lol
Green vs Hyatt...Gee, Steven Green must apply some real hard hair gel, what a lame finish. I also laughed at Camaro saying Green has lots of friends and family in the stands. Boy, I'll say. This wasn't one for the ages.
Owens vs Tiger...Tiger keeps adding to the act, now throwing paper, or cardboard, Tiger claws to the crowd. lol This, and the next match, felt like a total house show match. You're right Larry that they got rid of some of the stuff here, but these didn't feel at all like tv matches to me, part of the reason they bored me. In fact, this whole match felt like a backdrop to set up the Mercer run in. I just find Owens gimmick hitting finish to be not that interesting. I don't mind him as a talent, but don't see him like a top heel type either. White Tiger is a weird case here, if you notice, anything he faces a "pushed" guy, he loses, always it seems. Odd.
Posey & Roswell vs Boyce & Castle...Boy, you're right Larry, Castle has no babyface appeal at all, to a comical degree, but then again I'm not sure how much heel appeal he'd have either. But talk about a hard sell as a Nashville babyface. Yeesh. Like I said, this felt like a total house show match too, and didn't hold my interest that well. Plus, the finish with Posey beating up Boyce, it kinda felt like the same thing I saw the last match with Owens beating up Tiger.
This show just isn't "grabbing" me. Guess it's me. Trent
