I dunno Larry, I can't say I liked this show better than last weeks. I found this show hard to watch, some of the camera angles and shots may be "artsy" like you said, but it was a turn off to me. Then when they went back to the "regular" shot, it looked out of place with the "artsy" one. I found it hard to get thru, as I've said before, I don't complain much about production and long as I can see and hear it, watching this one about made me dizzy, so I lost interest, which is bad when there's not much of interest there in the first place.
I did get a laugh at the dialog on the screen during the opening segment, it reminded me of a 1920's silent movie or something. Wasn't it amazing, and ironic, though that the voice of Chicken Hat saying "lard ass" repeatedly rang out loud and clear, no mic or subtitles needed to hear the Hat. Amazing.
Far as that opening segment goes...I dunno. I got a laugh at the fact that Owens comes out dressed as Gary Valiant, yet dressing as Valiant ended up having zero to do with the segment at all.
I also got a laugh at Camaro saying they don't know who is in charge here, that they have no boss. Yeah, it kinda shows. lol Who is putting these matches together? They seem so disjointed and make no sense in some cases. Have they even decided who they are pushing here or just throwing bad Indy noodles at the wall hoping something sticks?
The promos, and yeah at least they had some short promos, but they were bad for the most part.
The matches....
Hyatt vs Arachnid...Yeah, Hyatt over shooting that move was perversely funny. Otherwise...Yeesh.
Hollis vs Flynt...Goofy match up here. I saw Flynt in Petersburg, TN years ago in a match where the top rope broke, and his opponent, JP "Cage" Jones took a super scary bump to the floor. The 2nd camera was annoying me big time during this match, and I about quit watching. Mildly entertaining I guess, but who could buy this result with these two guys?
Boyce vs Posey....It was ok, but just ok, till the finish, which blew goats. Why would an ex-ref slap the ref while going for the title when he knows he was trying to win by cheating? I think the booker here needs a shrink.
Kastle vs Razor X....You're right, not an impressive debut for Kastle here, but who could get a good match out of Razor X? Roswell at ringside was just goofy, but I guess it made a bit of sense after Roswell called him out in a promo last week, which you can tell stuff was maybe filmed out of sequence cuz the guy that interviewed Roswell "last week", couldn't understand why Roswell was around "This week".
Tiger vs Popular..Yet another goofy match up. They have Popular cut a promo last week like he might be a pushed heel here, at least mid card maybe, yet he loses clean to White Tiger in his debut. Maybe I took last weeks promo by Popular wrong, but he's already been castrated
here basically.
Rapada vs Owens...Basically a yawner, but not as bad as Valaint vs Owens last week. I knew we weren't in for a lot here though when Rapada was already kinda threatening the "claw" before the match even began. Pretty obvious Rapada isn't sticking around, guess he was just in visiting from California or something. Owens did a heck of a job hiding the object on the finish, still, pretty tired stuff here, but it was fun seeing Rapada in a way, some things never do change.
The post match stuff with Hyatt and Owens to me was the best thing on the show, the bump Hyatt took to the floor was hilarious, and looked like it sucked. This was actually a fun segment to close to show, but far too little too late for me by then. Slight thumbs down. Trent
