"Marks" run shows because it takes "mark money" to run most shows. There are plenty of professional organizations out there that guys still respect but for every one of those there are several "mark money" promotions where guys aren't there to get better, they're there to get paid. Those shows usually don't last long.
It is the wrestling BUSINESS and a lot of people forget that and make it "My once a week hobby of paying out a lot of money to guys and just hoping I make some of it back at the gate"
