Jeremiah, I'm not even saying that wrestlers should be posting flyers. It would be great if they did. I'm saying "promote" "talk to people" "get people out who have never been to shows".
Here's an example for you... a wrestler goes into a food store, the checkout lady says "Hi, how are you today?" The wrestler says "Oh, not too well. I was wrestling down at the Stadium Inn last night, and hurt my elbow pretty bad." The checkout lady says "You're a wrestler? Really? Where did you say you wrestle?" The wrestler says "The Stadium Inn, every Friday and Saturday night. We put on a great show. You oughta come out, and bring your kids."
Yeah... believe it or not... something that simple. It works. I've witnessed it. I've seen this actually done before. People are intrigued by wrestling and wrestlers. Why keep it such a secret? Talk to people.
If you think that's asking too much to do in your free time... I mean, that 10 extra seconds out the checkout counter... I guess we will just disagree that what I'm saying is too much for the wrestlers to do.
Seriously, striking up a conversation with a total stranger about wrestling is easy, doesn't take much time, and doesn't take ANY money. If you want to post flyers, definitely do it. If you don't want to, at least work at promoting the league the best you can. If you are already doing that, then I don't know what we are disagreeing about in the first place.
