Yeah, a few years ago Tony Falk was telling me if the wrestlers would "only" bring 2 paying people with them each, how that would help. I said Tony, what would you have said if back in '85 Bill Watts said to you that you had to bring 2 paying fans with you to each show?? Tony said I would have told him he was crazy, but the business has changed, I said not for the better.
I mean it's the same if I do a gig as a bass player, it's not my "job" to promote the show. Sure If I see someone I know, and they ask when I'm playing, I'll tell them, but I'm not going to go out and and try to shamelessly round up a crowd. I'm not wired that way, and as a paid performer on a show, that's not one of my responsibilities, unless specifically stated that it is beforehand, and if that was stated beforehand, I wouldn't do the gig. For example, as a general rule I won't do gigs where the band splits the door as pay, I want to know specifically what I'm going to make before I leave the house. Trent
