http://members3.boardhost.com/Trent36/msg/1253473909.html is my report of what happened and here is how I would book it. I don't mean this as a slap in the face to the Anarchy bookers which do just a ridiculously good job getting so many workers into programs to develop their wrestling skills, mic skills, and just overall marketability. Hindsight is 20/20 and this is just my opinion as a fan and nothing more.
New Jack comes out and does his thing...awesome. He could put over some Anarchy people other than just Bill Behrens though. He HAS worked with a lot of the people who are Anarchy.
Todd Sexton comes out and I'd have Greg Hunter announce that Todd would like everyone to know that he deserves better than having to be in the first match and has issued an open challenge! A returning Hayden Young answers it to a pop surely louder than he got for saving Malachi.
1) Hayden Young d. Todd Sexton with the Flying Squirrel - Todd gets heat and people love to watch him lose. Why not let Hayden remind the people how exciting he can be in the ring?
2) Entourage w/ Mercedes & Clinton d. Kareem Abdul Jamar & El Veterano - people don't care much about El Veterano but Kareem gets over pretty well and Vet could use the rub of having a charismatic tag partner. Vet does some cool stuff but just doesn't have the "it" factor that makes people care about him. Having Anarchy semi-jobbers is better than J-Rod & BJ Hancock jobbing, nothing against their work.
I'd keep the spot with Clinton gaining Mercedes as his personal valet and being upgraded to the heavyweight division to prove himself.
3) Judas d. Clinton in a squash - keep it. Clinton is such a lovable lackey goof.
4) Wild Bunch d. Hate Junkies by DQ when the Hate Junkies use a chair, or trash can, or some kind of weapon. Wild Bunch doesn't take much punishment because they're a strong tag team in Anarchy but The Rowdy Friends come out to make the save and brawl with the Junkies to the back. This would give the Hate Junkies a match on the show and continue their storyline with the Rowdy Friends, while certainly not burying Wild Bunch.
Vain comes out and introduces his new bodyguard Orion Bishop. He says he's a defending champion and will put his title on the line against anyone.... BUT Shadow Jackson. Shadow comes out and Vain says no way, I said anyone BUT you and so Shadow points at both of them and Vain says you're going to take on both of us? Truitt Fields' music hits and he comes out and apologizes to the fans for missing Hostile Environment and thanks Shadow for stepping in. He says he wants to show Shadow how much he appreciates it by being his tag partner.
5)Jeremy Vain & Orion Bishop d. Shadow Jackson & Truitt Fields when Vain nails Shadow with the belt and Orion spears him for the cheap pin. This would help Orion get over more as a working bodyguard, Jeremy as the cheap champion he is, show Truitt as a stand up guy, and give Shadow even more reason to want to get his hands on Vain.
Intermission
I'd keep the "Slim P" stuff... HILARIOUS. Then I'd have Bo Newsome come out to stand up for Slim J. He'd challenge Chase, Posey, and Delay and reveal his tag partners... Don Matthews & Jessco Blue
6) Delay, Chase, & Posey d. Newsome, Matthews, and Blue when Delay punches out Newsome with the brass knuckles. After DC&P leave, the Hate Junkies run back in and lay out Matthews & Blue. This gives these guys some actual contenders without anyone actually getting buried and would further the Slim J stuff and Hate Junkies/Rowdy Friends stuff
7) Skirra Corvus d. Malachi with the curbstomp to win the Young Lions Cup. This was a great move by Anarchy to put the "title" on Skirra. Malachi just isn't over at Anarchy and no one even cared to see Hayden save him. Hayden could definitely come out after Malachi has been laid out and issue a challenge to Skirra but no save was really needed by the fans standards. I'd move this match to the 2nd hour.
Fans needed a pick me up at this point and I'd get rid of the women's match or just have them do a catfight brawl instead of a match at this point.
T&M do their promo and Driver comes out alone and says that Driver couldn't make it tonight but he will take them on by himself.
8) Talent & Money d. Derrick Driver in a handicap match to retain the titles... they took the titles out of this match when Walters wasnt there and it killed the caring of the crowd. this is basically babyface vs babyface at this point anyway which also kills a chance at heat on the match. I'd still have the Entourage & Carnage do the run in, making Driver still look strong with it being 5 on 1 and keeping the crowd on his side. The awkward stare off between Entourage and Talent & Money was good here and obviously sets up a future confrontation.
Bailey does his promo and Ace comes out and accepts. Iceberg joins him in the ring for a tag match.
9 Iceberg & Ace Rockwell d. Shaun Tempers & Shatter when Ace Rockwell hits the Aces High on Tempers. Bailey can get involved after the match and Truitt can still make the save when the heels get the advantage but I just think a tag match is a better use of talent here and would make the crowd care more with the two feuds intertwined, like Anarchy does so well.
There were so many Anarchy "regulars" and guys working programs that didnt have matches and way too many jobber guys that no one cared about... My version just uses the regulars and doesn't use some of the jobbers. Any thoughts? I know it's a tv format and squash matches are used to highlight current talent and I know that "slow booking" is being performed here in some cases so that the story can have a nice build into a great big show match at Fright Night.
New card is out... looks like I jumped the gun on Wild Bunch vs Hate Junkies haha but my version would work well with the rest it seems
10/3
Shatter vs Fields
Rockwell vs Tempers
Shadow vs Orion
Skirra vs Hayden
Brodie vs Bo
WildBunch vs HateJunkies
Be there!
