Dear John Dycke, must tell you that much of my depression, tiredness and all of the rest have been very much helped by taking synthyroid, hydrocortisone, and growth hormone by injection daily. My pituitary is nonexistent now and my thyroid is not working well not either. This is much the story for a lot of us. However, an endocrinologist monitors my thyroid and other hormones every so many months. My energy level and muscle ache etc. have increased because of growth hormone injections. I am not making the hormone anymore that regenerates cell growth for muscles and major organs. The thyroid meds also have greatly helped with depression. There are meds that will help with some of these things, although I did experience greatly all of the things you said before finally my blood work numbers went so low that I was put on these meds. And yes, the weight gain is such an unforgiven issue as far as a side effect by society. Keep walking though, keep trying to not gain. It's always a battle. You will feel better though to keep excercising as I'm sure you already know. Actually, I keep excercising even to avoid any additional side effects. As I said before, the doctors say a bus will kill you before this thing will....what they don't say is that sometimes you feel like running out in front of one. That's the part they leave out. Which brings me to the other point. I hope you and anyone else reading this will tell your endo doc everything you can think of and ask anything. Take as long as you need when you see him. The quality of your life can be greatly effected in between these visits by literally MAKING get to know you and communicating with you. I have experienced this with my own endo doc. My office visit takes almost an hour to go over everything. Another med greater than all of these is God in my life as well. You just can't get enough of this medicine. It's hope, love, peace in a bottle and you take daily and it's free! Reta.
