I had a prolactin producing pituatary tumor in 1986. It was discovered when they were doing an
Xray for what I thought was sinus problems. The technician spotted it. My prolactin level was at 1400. This was late summer and after seeing a "middleman" Dr. I went to the surgeon. I had surgery in November that year as they felt it was growing to the point that it was near the optic nerve. After surgery my prolactin dropped to about 18-20. I felt wonderful for a couple of years. Never really lost the weight I should have. My prolactin level has been going up and down lately between 200-300 but MRI doesn't show anything but scar tissue and a small spot that hasn't changed in about 5-6 years. Have been on Bromocriptine for many years.
