Posted by Robert Likewise . . I also was diagnosed with a pituitary adenoma, so the radiologist says. Being in the medical field myself, I learned quickly to be your own investigative doctor and bypass neurologists. My neurologist could not even get me in for a follow-up consultation for 1 month. Sooo Busy! He was the one to order the MRI. Forget that idea! I got an appointment with the neurosurgeon faster. Come to find out, I have no pituitary adenoma, but a benign mass around the right carotid artery. I am scheduled for surgery next month. It is an outpatient procedure. I have a friend in my hometown who had a pituitary adenoma removed by the same surgeon. Back to your post . . . I myself has had a bad experience with a neurologist. I went straight to the top with the surgeon. Radiologists and Neurologists in my case, both seemed to have different opinions. I went straight to the surgeon who showed me my MRI and took the time to explain to me of my problem. In your case . . How can a neurologist give your an "OR" senario? Since when are neurologists, surgeons? Marisa . . the best of luck to you and you can vent to me anytime!
