I was put on Bromicriptine to shrink a Pituitary Tumor. I had the Pituitary Tumor Removed in 2003. Half of my pituitary was removed with the Tumor ..The Pituitary half left continued to work as if it were whole for years ...then my Thyroid was low ,so now I take meds. for Hypothyroid .my prolaction level slowly crept up so I take bromicriptine ,which has lowered the level (M.R.I. showed no return of the tumor ) My prolaction level is in the normal range ..The bromicriptine is being lowered .....I have found that thyroid meds has a side effect of depression as well as any meds that deal with the endo. system .I now take thyroid med. and citalpram for depression ....I have to say I feel better than I have in 10 years ....
