Hi,
I was diagnosed with a non functioning pit tumor in Sep05.Just went for a routine eye exam and he did a visual field test which showed I had slight periphel vision loss. He sent me to a neurologist who sent me for MRI and the tumor was discovered. I was shocked because I had no symptoms. It was 3cm. Had transphenoidal surgery Oct26 and I am 3 weeks post-op.The neurosurgeon could not get it all. Waiting on 6 week MRI to determine what course we take.He said small 15% chance of more surgery but definately radiation.Gamma Knife or Novalis.I would like to hear back from anyone who could share radiaton experiences. Can you work during radiation?I have been on Short Term Disability and planning to return to work in 6 weeks but if I have a course of radiation I do not know how I can drive to Houston(1hr each way)have treatment and return to work full time. I realize Gamma is a one time but don't know which I will have. Has anyone had novalis? I hear it is the latest technology. Appreciate any feedback
