I've started my full time job now. I work three days on my old job and two days on a completely different job to make my 40 hours. The old job was laid back, stress free and easy. The new job is just the opposite, high paced, difficult and stressful.
Anyway, my mother, brother and sister have started up the mess again about the farm. It's like every year about this time they go nutso. My sister wrote me an ugly e-mail last night, which I just opened tonight. Plus today I got a letter via regular mail from my brother which made me very angry. Same thing about how me and my Aunt are cheating them. They are so convinced they are being cheated.....funny thing is they never ever have come down here and done one iota of work on this farm....not even so much as pulled one weed. Yet all they do is complain, complain, complain.
Anyway, I had about lost my patience and had just set down to do write a "Hot" retort, when I got a call from my mother. She said my sister had been to the doctor today. It seems a small bump had come up on her tongue a couple months ago and it had begun to grow. Mama said the doctor took one look at it and told my sister she needed to be scheduled with a surgeon immediately to have it biopsied. My sister don't smoke, never has, so I don't know. I love my sister but I don't like her ways. She's always been sharp tongued and said things that hurts peoples' feelings, it's like she just doesn't have any regard for other peoples' feelings. She takes after my mother.
You know, I couldn't help but think that everytime they start this mess up about the farm, something terrible happens. Last year, it was the baby, remember she got pregnant and the baby was going to be Downs Syndrome and she aborted it.
You know, they all really need prayer. I wonder about their salvation sometimes. All proclaim loudly to be Christians, you know, they got saved and baptized. But their behavior just doesn't show it. I don't think my brother or sister have been to church in 20 years. My mother goes to church about every other Sunday, but sometimes I wonder about her too.
You know, me and my aunt, we are doing right by my brother and sister. Neither one of us would even think about cheating them. We work hard, I think we've done well...most of the farmers around here have had to declare bankruptcy, yet we are starting to make a little money now. I can't help but think about the bible's admonition not to be unequally yoked. I just do not understand how my brother and sister can let money get in the way of their love of their family.
