Remember in my last post, I said that I had taken to writing down my prayer requests, basically sort of writing out my prayers in a letter to God.
Well, the first on my list was my health. In August I was diagnosed with polyps on my vocal cords. The doctor ran a tube down my nose to my throat and said I had polyps and that they rarely ever resolve themselves without surgery. Well, I put off having the surgery because I wanted to wait till after the first of the year....no sense paying a deductible and then having to meet another deductible. In the meantime, I've asked everybody and their dog to pray for me. I mean everybody.
Friday, the 11th, I went for a second opinion. Because I still can't talk, I had just resolved myself to the fact I was going to have to have surgery. The second doctor ran the scope, looked and looked and looked and said "Well, if you had polyps on your vocal cords....they are gone now." If that isn't a miracle, I don't know what is!!! He says the reason I can't talk is because I have fluid on my vocal cords, kind of like having water on the knee. It's from allergies and straining my voice. He's got me on some medication, but has given me virtually no hope that my voice will ever be right again. But we all know that with God all things are possible!
Then on my finances, which was second on the list....I got offered a permanent position with the State of Florida (I was temporary part time), two days after I wrote my letter to God...and get this...they nearly DOUBLED my pay.
I love the Lord and I can't wait to see what is next!
Let's all continue to pray for each other. Remember, all you have to have is faith the size of a grain of mustard seed and you can move mountains!!!!
