Yeah, unsurprising. Manchester just isn't big enough for 100,000 football fans descending on it. Total nightmare trying to get around the city yesterday, the bulk of the pubs were (wisely) shut, and from 3pm onwards the only place in the city centre selling booze was an underground offy in the gay district, next to a gay sauna. The sight of hoardes of skinheads with questionable tattoos queueing up with crates of stella desperately trying to avoid the pictures of topless perrys on the wall was very amusing.
In the end the owner of Yates let people in with cans, which was fair. Finding somewhere for a beer after the game was harder, mind, although it was at that point that my encyclopaedic/anorakish kniowledge of Manc pubs became useful. Don't envy the street cleaners this morning, though.
