A lot of it is funny, in the same was that the office was funny in that some of it was so awkward it was almost unwatchable, but then again parts of it are so unbelievably racist that sometimes you get the feeling he's doing it for the sake of it. Almost strikes me as Alf Garnett in another form, given that he's obviously trying to show Americans up to be cretins (which he does), although you get the feeling it'll end up having the opposite effect. He does put in stuff about muslims but he keeps very low key (obviously, or as you said he'd never get it past the censors), but as far as I'm concerned the only reason he can get away with some of the anti-semitic stuff is that he's Jewish himself. Not a bad film, but works more on the "shock value" of what he says and does rather than having any storyline, which is very weak. What the people in Kazakhstan must think of SB-C is anyone's guess.
