My question was where do we draw the line on things classified as a mockery or detrimental to the game?
I donít think rules based on subjective material are necessarily fair. So instead of faking injuries/forfeiting/doing what they were told to do by someone, they sit starters and play guys at positions they donít play (most importantly pitcher). They proceed to get clobbered, while walking a bunch and not making plays the starters possibly make. They do this in order to speed the game up and get it over with. Is that not a mockery? Is that detrimental to the type of product you want to showcase?
Disclaimer, I donít think Precision laid down originally. I think once they brought in an OF to pitch when their guy got roughed up, that was pretty clearly a white flag being waved. They are just an example.
Why not make the rule based on however many teams started that day? If you forfeit Friday/Saturday, you get last. If you forfeit Sunday for whatever reason, you drop to 3-4-5th based on how many teams came back. Could even charge a reasonable fee if need be.
I donít have the 100% correct answer. Iím just not of the opinion you basically ignore the games the team won, all because of a forfeited game.
