Was it a mockery. Yes, I agree. Could it have been prevented. Yes, it could have. Should our sponsor have booked later flights? Yes, he probably should have (in hindsight). Fathers day weekend, we haven't been playing well, why book guys getting in at 12:45 am when you haven't made a sunday all year (St. Louis doesn't count, as Saturday was cancelled). Not everyone has an airport that has flights on the hour. Me personally, I either leave at 6 am or 6 pm and usually there is no in between, which is why I drive to every tournament (except Minnesota).
I had guys from other teams texting me yesterday. Even one from the winning team saying thanks for speeding it up so he could make his flight on time, because he may have missed it.
Bottom line, this whole situation was discussed and plenty of phone calls made Saturday night. So lets not sit there and act all surprised like no one knew it was coming. Not saying it was right or wrong. But I don't blame the sponsor for not spending $3400 to change flights to gain 10/20 points. And yes, I watched our sponsor search the internet and make calls for roughly 2 hours, checking on all options. All of you that aren't spending that kind of money really cant say "I would have done this, or I would have done that". Because you don't know what you would have done.
