While yes softball is dying a slow death, it does appear that the conference sponsors are not turning over near as fast as they did in the first 10 years of the conference.
This is kind of like the argument about the west not being able to have a conference team or California be able to have a conference team. When you look at geography it seems like western conference teams can't exist. Yet 16 of the 39 teams are west of the Mississippi and 6 are from Northern California alone.
It would make a lot of sense if there were no western conference teams and that sponsors are not coming back, but neither is the actual case currently.
