Re: Breaking news
The article says the city voted to give utrip until 3/31 to meet the original, agreed upon goal which is currently short by approximately 25k rooms. IF they meet the number, will the 25,000 rooms sold between January 1 and the end of the extension count towards 2019's total, too? I'm guessing it will not, and only be tallied for the 2018 figures. If that's the case, they're starting off the (fiscal) year in April again with another 75,000 room/nights to fill in 8 months. It all seems very unrealistic. 100k room/nights seems laughable unless they add a lot more events for youth baseball and softball.
Also, a committee member is asking in the article for transparent reporting and literally no one (including DW who is a utrip employee) knows the process of reporting and/or confirming a USSSA player or spectator room/night. What a mess.
Best of luck to USSSA.
