I am working on an article and will post it Tuesday which explains the points.
You cannot pick out the big tournaments and have a losing record and qualify for the major because you will not score enough points. You cannot pick out the Seattle Dual and the Dudley and then the big tournaments like the Smoky, HOF Dual, and Chicago and have a losing record at those and qualify for the Major World Series.
All of the teams that made the major won over 58% of their games and won over 50% of their games against upper level opponents.
Conference is expecting 35 to 40 teams for 2019 (most likely 40).
Winning smaller tournaments like Oklahoma, Maryland and the rest still matters. And finishing 2nd in those also matters. Remember also building points early in the season whether you use those points as one of your top 6 tournaments or not still helps you with better seeding so every tournament, game, and point matters in Conference play these days.
