I know that because I was the one trying to convince him to go play there. We were great friends but I was not at his level as a player and I didn't want to hold him back. Jeff again said..the only reason to play softball is to play with friends and I love our guys...
Jeff played two big events with a team other then our Pro Team/Dan Smith group.
One was with the Ace's at the 1990 or '89 World Series in Greensboro at war memorial stadium. They picked up Jeff and myself to play..although in hindsight I believe I was asked just so they could have a chance to get Jeff to go..I had to talk him into it.
Jeff also played with Budweiser at the ASA Super in Little Rock around '90. The Budweiser team was built with all players from NorCal..8 of us played in the same city league..the other four lived within 60 miles of us..WE CAME IN THIRD? Being knocked out by Superior I a game we were ahead by 20 runs at one point. I think we lost 49-46 or something crazy like that (KEGS was on that Superior team)..So much for NorCal having very little talent..Superior was a national all star team.
