Have created many "elites" that never would have sniffed upper level ball games without those three things being invented.
I forgot to add a few more jeff Peterson stories..
He had steele's begging him to join them at the zeneth of Steele/ big time softballs. Jeff wanted to focu on his career and play softball as a hobby.
He told the Yankees when they wanted to draft him (he was a 21 year old sophomore) with their first pick in the second round (worth hundreds of thousands of dollars) he was going to stay in college because he promised his mom he would graduate from college.
His sophomore year (maybe/or his freshman year??) the university of California was in the running to win the college World Series..their coach said he wished they were a catholic school because if they were Jeff would have gone there and they would have won the title.
Woody Bell left multiple messages on Jeff's phone to play with them ..Jeff never returned his calls.
I am sorry your history with elites softball players doesn't include an era where REAL NATURAL TALENTED MEN roamed the grass...and boys that were not talented enough couldn't cheat their way onto the top teams.
That's just another reason for the majority softball is not a sport...it's a cross between big time wrestling and Ultimate fighting without testing...which...more or less makes it a Hollywood or of broadway production.
