Do you even know the guy? I have first hand knowledge that when he is done being involved with NW Combat, he will retire from Upper Level involvement. He will stay home in Washington and play with friends, travel and finally enjoy life away from the game.
I have known him for almost 15 years, I have played against him and for him. He is one of the hardest working men in softball and he has more passion for this game than anyone I know. I have watched him teach/educate young coaches and players in the game, from experiences he has learned or taught to him. I went to lunch with him a few weeks back, he took a phone call from a D level coach and spent 20 minutes guiding and helping him along with building a new team. Would you do that? He is not a dummy and brings more than money to the table. He is far from the "LOOK AT ME" attitude you are trying to portray of him.
I am also aware of the favors he has done for many people in the softball community, and he is very humbled by anything that is ever done for him. Once again, he and his family are givers. All of them willing to lend a hand to those who need it the most. Unfortunately, softball is surrounded by takers. Those whom feel the world is owed to them and everything should evolve around there being. He see's that, but shrugs it off and just remembers who they are.
I also would guarantee he is one of the most compassionate people you will ever come across. He has been raising money for different organizations for more than 15 years and has also offered assistance in many on field tragedies that have taken place at the park. His brother told me that on their trip to B Worlds he helped a man having Heart Condition the last two hours of the flight.
I could go on and share many stories, some good, some bad. But all in all, Stro is guy I will call a friend for life. A winner on and off the field. A man that has recognized and admitted his faults and has attempted to make his life and this recreational game better.
