Not correct. 1s on stage & sight-reading are still considered a sweepstakes...even by UIL. |
By your definition, only the three MS that still march are eligible for a Sweepstakes. There are HS that do not march, yet still go to C/SR. There may be 2-Event (C/SR), or 3-Event (M, C/SR) sweepstakes...but they are all sweepstakes.
Look at UIL Forms this spring when C/SR ratings are posted. Awards will be listed as SWA, SWB, SWC, and SWD. The SW stands for sweepstakes. Any award at C/SR where the band walks away with a trophy is a Sweepstakes.
if you didn't earn an overall division 1 in marching, concert and sr it's not a sweepstakes . But, as stated, you drop the high and the low score and what is left is your rating. What all 3 give is of no conseuence
So we got Sweepstakes in marching and sightreading over the last three years, and I haven't gotten the trophies engraved yet. I believe they are the "A" trophies.
Since they represent getting both sweepstakes, how do you word that on your trophy?
