Itís vacation time, for one. Many hiring folks arenít working 5 day weeks or 8 hour days. |
For two, even the most innocuous of vacancies wind up with literally hundreds of applicants. Replying to each and every one of them, even if two minutes typing per, is a several hour job.
Also, once you reply to one, some folks take that as an invitation to strike up dialogue about the interview process. A hundred fifty emails just doubled or more.
At some point, interviews need to happen. Usually they canít go on until prescreening is finished, and sometimes background checks. This is now a multi day multi hour process taking place, as stated at the beginning, during vacation.
Finally, this is for a single school vacancy. Imagine being a FAD with many schools a vacancy at each, and setting up interviews for each position. Oh, and most FAD have to still go through a campus principal who is, again, likely on vacation right now. This is now a multi hundred hour process during which time no interviews have taken place because theyíre responding to emails.
In short, it is simply not practical to respond to every applicant. Get over it.
