Yes, they are JUST concentrating in the major metro areas...with a few exceptions. |
They keep getting told in college that any school that is smaller than 5A...and it has to be the "right" 5A (meaning Suburbia 5A, and not out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere 5A-D2 that's-just-big-enough-to-not-be 4A that is the only HS for the county), or smaller than 3C is beneath them, and not worth their time...and they end up working as a high paid tech...OR they don't get hired, and complain that, "there aren't any jobs".
That's not being old or grumpy. That's just how things are.
If there are so many graduating, where are the applicants going?
Are they JUST concentrating on the major metro areas?
I have had conversations with several others in good schools that don't happen to be located in the metroplex/houston/austin/san antonio areas and we just aren't getting resumes sent to us.
A concern I have had for many years is graduates going for they powerhouse jobs and nothing else. They want instant gratification in their position and essentially end up working as a high paid tech...
Of course, that just makes me sound old and grumpy. I'm neither.
