The old "Bugs Bunny" non colored cover arrangements would be the appropriate sight-reading level 1 for non-varsity middle school bands. Remember most of the bands that read the Level 1 music are 2nd year players in MS non-varsity bands. A small percentage that read are high school non-varsity, only 3A and down, there are not that many of those. All beginner programs are not the same, all are not fortunate enough to have band every day in homogenous classes. Many are not even every day, please don't make broad statements about what 2nd year players abilities should be because all programs do not have the same set of teaching circumstances. |
