Also E (Thumb and 1) this will also tell you how sharp they are playing.
Not worrying about transposition, I always check open g, first line e, below staff C (if you have one that acutally comes apart in the center, you can pull out!), and C third Space.
Also, have them tune with your alto saxes. They won't feel as awkward (just remember third line D will be a flat note).
