BD reads that these solos are Class 1 on the YB.
BD hands out one of those to a kid in his/her band.
Kid goes to the trouble of preparing and memorizing the solo, thinking they can go to state on a solo that is achievable for them.
BD attempts to enter kid to S&E contest, but solo isn't on Class 1 list. BD has to tell the kid that their work was on a Class 2 solo.
BD mislabels S&E entry on his/her paperwork, kid is DNP'd or DQ'd at contest for improper entry. (Rare, but happens with some stickler Regions)
Kid goes to S&E, plays solo from memory, doesn't know until after contest that solo was a Class 2 and he/she doesn't get to advance, since kid never saw the entry.
See why you let people know? It's not ivory tower to expect people to give CORRECT advice.
PML updates are published annually on the UIL/PML website. It's not a Region Secretary's job to let anyone know that a piece a band spent two months working on was removed from the PML. It's your job as a BD to know the PML.
: Okay calm down. Someone hasn't updated their
: list from last year. Maybe you can help
: them when you climb down from your high
: horse, on top of that ivory tower.
