If you want something uniform in your high school setting, I would definitely go in the Vandoren route. There will be a debate between whether you want an M13 lyre, M30 lyre, or 5RV lyre. I would personally recommend the M30 lyre, but either would suffice. Maybe consider finding a place that would let you/your top player try a few out on trial? They will be around $80-90 a pop, but perhaps there could be a discount in bulk. |
I personally play on a Rico Reserve X5 mouthpiece, you can give them try if its available to try out, but I would stick with Vandoren for this situation.

PS- Everyone seems to love the Debut- though I've never played on one. Perhaps the improvement is not that significant/worth the cost. Just something to consider.
