I used clear nail polish on the lip plate and bought sections of "moleskin" from the Band Aid section of the store. I'd cut them into pieces for my RH thumb and left hand contact point. My open-hole keys had the plastic plugs, but even when I took them out, the keys didn't bother me too much. |
When I bought a professional flute with a gold lip-plate and .925 silver body, I was very happy--I've had zero problems!
The only thing I don't like about the LH Bo Pep is that it changes the finger positions a little more than I like. Moleskin keeps the shape of the flute, sticks very well, and doesn't affect hand position.
Always make sure she washes her hands immediately after playing and she'll be fine.
