When I retired from a large metropolitan area I relocated to a part of the state far from where I taught. It occurred to me the other day that if I passed away, no one here would even know who I was. I don't consider myself among the "greats", but I know that have touched many lives over my career. I appreciate what your saying about at least being acknowledged by our peers. I think too often we assume that someone who knew them better will speak up, so we remain silent. |
: There are many of us such as Ben Hoaldridge
: who have given their lives to this great
: calling. There is Mike Davis who was a
: young teacher with a great future. I see
: only a few people comment on these great
: lives. When I pass, I hope my fellow
: directors will at least acknowledge my
: absence. Not that it will matter to me
: personally, but it might to my family. If
: you can't make it to the services, at least
: post something. Maybe I'm strange, but I
: think we need to honor those who have
: touched our lives. Thanks for reading.
