Buddy, that is quite a normal thing - even when you move to greener pastures. You did the right thing. As you and I have talked about before, the principal just doesn't get it. You've worked miracles there. Seriously. They were really playing, even playing YOUR marches! How cool is that? I'll miss your cornball jokes, but I"m betting the kids won't. Stay in touch, bubba. |
: Well, I announced to the powers that be that I
: am retiring. More and more dump classes kept
: getting piled on me and next year I was to
: do 3 band classes, and 4 dump classes. My
: band was really getting good, but the stress
: of the class-load was getting to be too
: much. Will they be able to find a good band
: director to replace me this late in the
: summer? Will a good band director take the
: job with 4 non-band classes attached to the
: schedule? When I try to talk to the
: principal about the class-load, his response
: is usually something like,"If you don't
: like your assignment, go somewhere
: else" Well, I'm going somewhere
: else.......home. I am still worried about
: the band. I want them to do well. I know it
: is not my problem, but I can't help caring
: about them. I am seriously worried for them
: and it is stressing me out. Is this normal?
