First of all, while I don't have lupus, my wife does. So, I can hopefully give you some info.... |
1) Stress will cause a flare!! So, practicing 'calming exercises' or techniques can help. Anything along these lines.
2) Try to avoid direct sunlight. My wife, when she was still able to help me, started wearing a broad-brimmed hat. Also, sunscreen, even a light layer on cloudy days.
3) Be very, VERY aware of any sort of bug bites and other skin irritations. A cortisone or Benadryl cream is great here.
4) Obviously, a good, balanced diet is essential, along with multi-vitamins, if you don't mind taking pills.
That's all I can think of, now. IT TOTALLY sucks having a disease where all the Docs can do is treat the symptoms, rather than the disease. We will be keeping you in prayer.
