Please don't use Horn mouthpieces on mellophone. |
Use a mellophone mouthpiece.
Like 'Niner' said, you would use a clarinet mpc on a saxophone.
Horn mpc angle is approx. 45 degrees DOWNWARD, yet marching position is 10 or more degrees UPWARD. Big mistake. A properly positioned Horn angle and mpc angle would have your mello players looking to the sky.
: I have the Yamaha YEP302MS for my horn line in
: marching band. My students all have the
: Holton Farkas MDC mouthpiece and have used
: this in years past. Tuning has been an
: issue at times, and I was wondering if going
: to a different mouthpiece would help them be
: more consistent when marching? What do you
: use for your own students?
