Published in 2015, it remains one of the most comprehensive collections of traditional warm up hymn chorales available for band drawn from various genuine historical American & European hymn traditions.
This collection can be previewed on J.W. Pepper’s website at this link:
52 Hymns and Chorales for Winds
Additionally, there are a couple of free items available connected to this collection that are not available on J.W. Pepper’s website:
1) Free basic MP3 recordings (that can be listened to and/or downloaded by anyone, no purchase required) of all 52 chorales that were generated in Sibelius before the expression marks were added during the pre-publication process, and…..
2) A document that gives more in depth information about the songs in this collection including a spreadsheet list of what parts each instrument has in the ensemble (i.e.- SATB parts) for every chorale.
(Note: The SATB parts names are given in the score under every instrument's name for all songs so the conductor can quickly see at a glance who has what part).
A short abstract is also inside this document. Broad historical information about the chorales is also included should it be useful for lesson plans.
