March 1 and 2, 2024
Kilgore College Dodson Auditorium
Kilgore, Texas
The Kilgore College Invitational Wind Symphony features students, grades 9-12, from high school band programs to perform with the Kilgore College Wind Symphony in a great experience including 3 rehearsals and a concert at Kilgore’s Dodson Auditorium. Conductor, Derrick Logozzo, will rehearse and conduct the ensemble performing a variety of advanced level repertoire. There will also be solo performances by interested students on the concert.
Process: High School Directors choose student players from their programs who are able to attend all rehearsals and the performance. The directors notify host, Derrick Logozzo, by February 20 of the performers’ names and instruments. Any interested students may contact the host as well. Parts and audio links will then be sent to directors and players to prepare for the rehearsals and concert. Guest student performers can choose the pieces on which they perform and are not required to perform on all selections. Individual students who would like to perform solos during the chamber music portion of the concert’s first half may do so as well.
Rehearsals: (includes full ensemble sessions and sectionals)
