Isn't providing (deliberately) false information a violation of the law? Not you, you did what you were required to do...I mean Student A.
If Student A has caused problems before, and is now making false statements that trigger CPS reports, IMHO, they need to be gone. There's no telling what this kid is doing/saying that you are not aware of. This is "Safe learning environment" territory.
Good call on bringing in an administrator. I'm working under the assumption that you have brought them up to speed with everything.
