2. Stipend - The stipend is for what was agreed upon before extra things were added to your outside of contract hours duties. If they want more after hours duties, then they need to increase the stipend since the duties were changed. A salary and stipend does not mean they can get unlimited work from you.
Having taught band for quite awhile now, any band director with experience knows that teaching band is not any easier or harder than any other subject taught on your campus.
If teachers are given actual contract hours they are being paid for, if they are asked to work outside of those hours without compensation, then the school is technically breaking the law even with the other duties as assigned clause.
Just because you signed a contract to be a teacher with a school district, that does not mean you are beholden to that school 24/7.
Schools taking advantage of teachers is a reason teachers burnout and why teachers are leaving the profession early in their career.
